Well, now that cell phones become an essential means of communication, telephones become less tantamount, however, the latter still play an important role in telecommunications, especially for personal and work purposes.
But just in case you don’t know the multiple ways on how to call landline in the Philippines, we will walk you through that process and what you need to know about the subject provided that you have a landline, a mobile phone, and an internet connection.
A landline is a medium of telecommunication that is composed of circuit of wires and cables allowing two grounds (from a building to the phone system) to establish a phone connection. It is also often referred to as a landline telephone.
No matter where a landline is located, you can use your mobile phone to call it by dialing the area code. To take this action, follow these steps:
Step 1: If you want to dial a landline, press its area code.
Step 2: Make the call after pressing the landline number.
To put it briefly: <area code> + <landline number with seven or eight digits>
When phoning a landline outside of Metro Manila with an area code other than 02, adhere to the precise syntax mentioned above.
When calling a Globe landline in Metro Manila or any other location with an area code of 02, start the existing landline number with 7. In other terms, dial <area code> + 7 + <7-digit landline number>. For instance, if you are using a Globe landline to call someone in Metro Manila, enter 02-7XXX-XXXX on your mobile device.
In Metro Manila or other locations having an area code of 02, if you’re calling a PLDT landline, start the number with 8. Get <area code> + 8 + <7 digit landline number>. For instance, if you are calling someone in Metro Manila from a PLDT landline, enter 02-8XXX-XXXX on your mobile device.
Under the Same Area Code
Dial the landline number of the person you want to call if they live in the same area code as you.
Let’s say you want to call a landline in the same province while you’re in Batangas. You don’t need to put the area code before the number; just dial the number you want to call.
Under a Different Area Code
Dial 0 + <area code> + <7-digit landline number> to make a landline call from outside of Metro Manila. To call someone in Batangas from another province, for instance, dial 043-XXX-XXXX.
In Metro Manila and other locations with area code 02, dial 0 + 2 + 7 + <7-digit landline number> to reach a Globe landline.
In Metro Manila and other locations with area code 02, dial 0 + 2 + 8 + <7-digit landline number> to reach a PLDT landline.
From a Different Country to the Philippines
Use the following syntax when making a call from abroad to a province outside of Metro Manila: 00 + 63 + <area code> + <7-digit landline number>. For example, if you want to call someone in Batangas from another country, dial 00-63-43-XXX-XXXX.
Dial 00 + 63 + <area code> + 7 + <7-digit landline number> to make a call from outside of Metro Manila (or use 02 as the area code) using a Globe landline. For instance, if you are in another country and want to use a Globe landline to call someone in Metro Manila, dial 00-63-2-7XXX-XXXX.
In Metro Manila or other locations having an area code of 02, if you’re calling a PLDT landline, start the number with 8. Get <area code> + 8 + <7-digit landline number>, that’s all. For instance, if you are calling someone in Metro Manila from a PLDT landline, enter 02-8XXX-XXXX on your mobile device.
