I already wrote a post on how you can easily get rid of annoying posts from your Facebook friends by unfollowing them . Well, in this article you will learn the opposite.
If you really want every update of your friends to be visible in your news feed or get notified every time there’s an update, you can easily achieve that by adding your friends in your close friend and enabling notifications for his/her update.
How to See Every Post from Facebook Friends 1. Use “Favorites” to Prioritize Certain Friends’ Posts The “Favorites” feature on Facebook lets you choose up to 30 friends and pages that will appear at the top of your News Feed, so you won’t miss any of their posts.
On Mobile (Facebook App) Open the Facebook app. Tap on the Menu icon (three horizontal lines) at the bottom right (iOS) or top right (Android). Go to Settings & Privacy , then select Settings . Scroll down and tap News Feed Preferences . Tap on Favorites . A list of your friends and pages will appear. Tap the Add button next to the friends whose posts you want to prioritize. Once selected, these friends’ posts will appear higher in your feed, ensuring you see their updates first. On Desktop (Facebook Website) Go to your Facebook homepage. Click on Favorites in the left sidebar (if it’s not visible, click See More to expand). Click Manage Favorites . In the pop-up, search for or scroll through the list of your friends, and click Add next to the ones you want to prioritize. This will set those friends to appear first in your feed, and their posts will be shown before others. 2. Turn On Notifications for Specific Friends’ Posts If you want to get a notification every time certain friends post, you can enable notifications for them.
Go to the profile of the friend whose posts you want to be notified about. Tap the Friends button (it’s usually found under their profile picture). Select Edit Friend List or Add to another list . Choose Favorites if you haven’t already (this is important because it lets you access additional notification options). Once set to Favorites , go to Notifications . Choose Get Notifications . You can select specific types of posts you want notifications for, like Photos, Videos, or Status Updates. Note : This will ensure you receive an alert whenever they post, making it easier to stay up-to-date.
3. Create a Custom Friends List Using custom lists, you can group friends and view posts from just those people by visiting the list directly.
How to Create a Custom Friends List on Desktop Go to your Facebook homepage. In the left sidebar, click on Friend Lists . (If you don’t see it, click on See More ). Click Create List . Name your list (for example, “Close Friends” or “Must-See Posts”) and add the friends you want to include in this list. After saving, you can access this list anytime by clicking Friend Lists in the sidebar and selecting your custom list. Here, you’ll see posts only from friends on that list, without other content. Tip : Bookmark the list’s URL to quickly access posts from these friends.
How to Access Friend Lists on Mobile Friend lists aren’t directly available on the mobile app, but you can set them up on the desktop and then use the web version of Facebook on your mobile browser to access them.
4. Use the “See First” Feature to Prioritize Certain Friends’ Posts If you don’t want to use Favorites, See First is a similar option that prioritizes posts from specific friends.
Visit the profile of the friend whose posts you want to see first. Click on the Friends button on their profile. Select See First . Their posts will now appear at the top of your feed, right after any posts from friends in your Favorites list. 5. Interact with Friends’ Posts to Encourage Facebook to Show More Facebook’s algorithm is influenced by engagement, so liking, commenting, and sharing posts from certain friends can increase the chances of seeing their future posts in your News Feed.
Regularly interact with the posts of friends you want to see more from. The more engagement you have with a friend’s content, the more Facebook will prioritize showing you their posts. 6. Use News Feed Filters to Adjust What You See Facebook now has a filter button on the News Feed that lets you view posts by Most Recent instead of the algorithmic default (Top Stories).
On Mobile :
Open your News Feed. Tap the Filter icon at the top of the feed (usually a small icon that looks like lines or a funnel). Select Most Recent to see the latest posts from all friends and pages. On Desktop :
On the Facebook homepage, click on Most Recent in the left sidebar. This will change your feed to show the latest posts instead of those Facebook thinks you’ll find most interesting. 7. Check “All Notifications” Section to Catch Missed Updates If you’re concerned about missing posts, occasionally check the All Notifications section.
Go to the Notifications icon (bell icon) at the top of the Facebook page. Click See All to view every notification. This can help you spot any posts or updates you may have missed. Following these steps will help you see every post from friends that matter most to you, keeping you up-to-date on their updates and posts.
