Ever dreamed of being part of the population who protects and serves their country? Ever dreamed of eradicating all the terrorist acts that are done in your motherland? Then joining the Philippine Army is the tailor-fit profession for you. Like any other professional career, joining the army also has qualifications, requirements, and a mandate procedure before coming in and in this article, we will be relaying those for you.
The very first step in applying for a position in the Philippine Army is to ensure that you are overall qualified to be part of the institution and the qualifications are:
For Enlisted Personnel At least 5’ for both male and female Single and has no child Must be physically and mentally fit Must have earned 72 units in college for both male and female If a high school graduate, they should possess technical skill highly desirable to be accepted in the military service Should pass the AFP Aptitude Test Battery with a score of 80 or higher At least 18 years old but must not be older than 26 years old No pending case in any court For Officer Candidate Course (OCC) Baccalaureate degree holder Single with no child At least 5’ for both male and female Should be at least 21 years old but not older than 24 years old on the start of training Physically and mentally fit No pending case in any court For Officer Preparatory Course (OPC) Commissioned in the Reserve Force as 2nd Lieutenant Not more than 31 years old on date of Call-to-Active Duty Physical and mentally fit 5’ for both male and female No pending case in any court The next step is to go to any examination centers for the screening (this is if you have passed for the qualifications). They will then allow you to take further examinations to prove your worth and your eligibility in joining the army.
The first exam is the PAATB which stands for Philippine Army Aptitude Test Battery. It is no different from entrance exams in colleges but of course, you have to be both physically and mentally prepared. And if you are asking, yes there are requirements in taking the exam and here are those:
Please take note that all original copies must be presented upon registration.
After passing the PAATB, you will be then instructed to take Physical Fitness Test to ensure that you are in good shape and if you are eligible to serve your country by being part of the Philippine Army.
I am quite certain that you will pass the physical test if you are willing to be part of the service and after that, you will now be undergo the Board Interview where you will be asked questions that will determine your place in the institution or not.
Once passed, you will take Physical and Medical Examination and the Final Board Deliberation once you get through the previous. From here, it is just a piece of cake – I am quite sure that you are aware of this so no need to fret.
After passing everything above, you will be Oath-Taking; this is for a year for OCCs and 6 months for OPCs.
