Have you been in a situation where one of your friends added you to a group chat on Facebook and every time a member in a group chat posted a message you get notified? Also, if you are a member of a group when a member posts on a group you also get notifications.
If you want to stop these notifications and decided to leave the group that you belong, you can follow this simple step.
To leave a Facebook Group using your browser, follow these steps:
Log In to Facebook: Open your browser, go to facebook.com, and log in to your account.
Navigate to the Group: In the left sidebar, select Groups or use the search bar at the top to find the group you want to leave.
Open the Group’s Page: Click on the group’s name to open its page.
Leave the Group: Once on the group page, look for the Joined button (usually near the cover photo) and click on it.
Select ‘Leave Group’: In the dropdown menu, click Leave Group. You may also be asked to confirm if you want to leave the group and if you’d like to prevent members from re-adding you.
Confirm: Click Leave Group to confirm.
How to leave Facebook Group – Mobile App
To leave a Facebook Group using the mobile app, follow these steps:
Open the Facebook App: Launch the Facebook app on your mobile device and log in if needed.
Go to the Groups Section: Tap the Menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the bottom right (iOS) or top right (Android). Then select Groups to view your groups.
Find the Group: In Your Groups or by using the search bar, locate the group you want to leave.
Open the Group: Tap the group’s name to open its page.
Leave the Group: Tap the Joined button near the top of the group page, then select Leave Group from the menu that appears.
Confirm: When prompted, confirm that you want to leave the group. You’ll also have the option to prevent group members from re-adding you.
